A little About me…

Hi my name is Sandy Hatherall, a watercolour artist based in Wangaratta, Victoria, Australia where I live with my family, our dog and cat. Once a big household of 8 with 3 sons and 3 daughters at home, now it’s myself and my husband. Since they have flourished into adulthood and moved out to live their lives with partners and their own children, I now have more time for me and that means more paint time (yay!).

Since 2020 I have built up my artistry skills through different types of art courses & tutorials to grow my understanding and knowledge of this wonderful medium.

I get inspiration for my paintings from the local plant life and landscapes while I’m driving through the countryside or out walking with my husband. When I’m not able to venture outside I get inspiration from Pinterest & the many photos I have taken (I’ve turned into a bit of a photo pest haha! always stopping to take photo’s of things that catch my eye).

In my spare time, when I'm not spending it with family and friends, I am in my art room painting and improving my skills even further, crocheting (my other love),or curled up with a book. When my daughters visit, they like to come into the room and I mentor them further in their skills, as they have an artistic flare too.
